What assistance will the One Stop Shop provide?

The complex process of adding a second unit can be overwhelming to homeowners. We get it! Pilot participants will receive no-cost support from Hello Housing to help them navigate the design, estimating, permitting and project management involved with building a second unit.

Sounds great! How do I apply?

While the formal application to participate has not yet opened, and specific eligibility requirements are still being determined, we are collecting an interest list of homeowners who would like to be kept up to date on our progress towards launching this exciting program. So, if you are interested in Bright in Your Own Backyard, similar offerings in other cities, or other informational updates about building a second unit, such as new financing options or changes to second unit regulations, please subscribe to The Bright Spot, Hello Housing’s new e-newsletter dedicated to second unit resources. And, to learn more about building second units in San Mateo County, please visit The Second Unit Resources Center and subscribe to their newsletter as well.
